yesterday- orphan sunday

Yesterday we went to church with my parents and then attended the Cry of the Orphan celebration that was hosted at their church as well. I can hardly described how I felt sitting there. I wept at times and was filled with joy at times. Kinda broken and empowered. There are lots big (and small) voices now speaking on behalf of orphans. I pray that this spirit of compassion would catch fire in many hearts across the world! It all comes back to the question of--- what are YOU going to do? As believers we are called to help. Is your way of helping through praying, supporting financially, adopting, or funding? Find where God would have you help BUT remember to just do something. Can you even wrap you mind around the fact that there are 140-147 MILLION ORPHANS in the world? If you are a believer do you know that you were also an orphan until God adopted you into HIS forever family? In about a week you will be able to view the event from last night on the GOSPEL MUSIC CHANNEL. I encourage you to pray and find a way you or your family can help!
James 1:27
Religion that God our Father
accepts as pure and faultless

is this: to look after orphans
and widows in their distress

and to keep oneself from
being polluted by the world.
