Several of you have heard bits and pieces of a ministry that Rusty and I are a part of... The 1:27 Call. It is just getting off the ground and we are super excited about it. Last night we held our first event... the Rutherford County Foster Care Christmas Party! Wow! I thought I would really feel blessed by the evening and I did on one hand. On the other hand my heart hurt. I saw so many faces of children that during a 2 hour block of time were smiling and having fun.. most of them anyway. But I couldn't help but think in my mind... where did you come from, what brokenness led to you being here, are you forever abandoned, what have you been exposed to and the questions went on. I found myself in a moment of thankfulness. I was thankful for parents who loved me, thankful that I was introduced to Jesus at an early age and thankful that my kids don't have to live with strangers. Our first event was successful! Check us out on the web- The 1:27 Call. Pictures from the event will be posted in the near future. You can help! We will be getting our 2010 calendar up in January but for now pray.
Lord, be King over this ministry. Let the praise and glory all be yours! May your name be glorified through the work of our hands! AMEN!
We felt like we were being led to care differently for orphans, the poor, the fatherless and needy about 18 months ago and even thought we might be headed to a foreign mission field. Right now God has us here in Murfreesboro, TN for a reason. We look forward to future missions trips with this ministry. God did an amazing job of bringing 6 couples (none of who we knew a handful of months ago) with like hearts and minds together for a common good. We have been in a time of preparation and our journey is just beginning. We look forward to serving the Lord by serving his people. We can't settle for the American dream any longer and we are not satisfied with our ordinary life. We want to be used by God to make a difference one life at a time.
