a sigh of relief

Our dossier was supposed to be in the hands of our Rwandan lawyer yesterday and it was held up for a clearance delay in Kigali. I contacted FedEx and was told that all paperwork is subject to regulatory review. What? That is not what I wanted nor expected to hear! At this point I imagined in my mind that our paperwork that was SO carefully placed in order and in page protectors was being shuffled through and tossed aside... momentarily forgot God is in control and all will be fine. Anyway, I emailed our lawyer and Tina at Mugisha Ministries to make them aware of the situation and to get any advice that I might need. The lawyer emailed back and said he was in contact with whomever had our paperwork and then had an email from Tina who had talked personally with the lawyer and found out that our paperwork was cleared, available for pick-up AND that it would be delivered to the Minister (MIGEPROF) today! What does this mean? Well, today begins our official wait. We sent our application to Mugisha Ministries to assist with our independent adoptions on November 16th and began this process. We had a couple of set backs along the way but feel like 6 months to complete the paperwork and get the dossier in the right hands was not too bad! Tina (MM) has been a huge help and blessing and we are already excited about our lawyer who seems very proactive in helping us bring our children home!

Congrats! What a great feeling to know it's going where it needs to be. And thanks for blogging about this -- we just sent our dossier yesterday and hopefully this info will help me not freak out if the same thing happens to us! Blessings to you!
