1 year ago today

Today, one year ago, we MADE IT!

It felt as though we would never get home at times.
Our time in Rwanda and Ethiopia was HARD.
A great experience but one of the hardest things we have ever done.
We actually can't wait to go back, when we are not completing an adoption!

The below slide show (kinda long) captures different events and moments during the past year... highlighting Hope and Benjamin. You will see many smiles and good times... we did have many of those. But, truthfully, we had some very low valleys along with very high mountains. We have learned what it is like to love two children that I did not carry in my womb. We have been surprised at our reaction to them at times. Today we feel like Hope is 100% connected and feels secure. Benjamin... we still need more time for us to say with assurance that he and we are 100% connected and that he fully trusts us. He was not with us for almost 4 years, Hope only 1 year... it makes a big difference. We are pleased with and proud of these two children of ours. They came to a new country to be a part of a white family that spoke a different language. Their progress during the past year has been amazing and we can't wait to spend the rest of our lives loving these two precious children.
We have known these two children for just a year but have prayed for and loved them for almost 3 years.

Thank you for letting us being a part of your journey. We love all 7 of you!
