update on mom

The Dr. turned the ventilator off this morning to see how mom would breathe on her own and this first attempt was not successful.  Her oxygen saturation levels were dropping too low so it was turned back on.  She was more alert this morning.  Dad held the phone to her ear and she answered my questions with a positive or negative head shake.

The cardiologist came by and said that there is a new procedure where they replace the valve through the groin.  She may not be a candidate for this type of surgery but they are going to look into it.

Mom is less swollen today. Lots of fluids were drained last night.

Hope woke up with a fever so I took her to the Dr. and she tested positive for the flu.  She does not seem to have a very bad case.  I am washing all the sheets, using an excessive amount of Lysol and praying over my home trusting that this does not spread between all 7 of us.  I want to be able to be at the hospital for sometime each day just to support my dad, which by the way, he still feels rotten but is hanging in there.  He has had several visitors from church today and I am thankful for that!

God is good all the time!
