Mulch and Mountains

The day we have worked towards and prayed for arrived on March 19th. As we were just beginning our school work we got the call that the company that was donating some mulch was loading the truck and then headed to the Children's Home. What a joy filled moment for Aubrey. She could not get ready to leave fast enough.

After the weed paper was in place in was down to business. Aubrey was the first to "shoot" the mulch onto the ground.

Then the professional took it from there.

After the truck was unloaded it was time to open and dump out almost 200 bags of mulch.... this is bagged much we got such a great deal on!

The stronger ones carried. I sliced open bags with a knife and the kids began dumping. Everyone pitched it.. it was great.

Mr. Darrell treated to the kids to some Cheetos for their hard work and also because it was nearly two hours past lunch time!

The Children from the home were at school so they had a surprise waiting for them when they came home. The play ground has been off limits for quite a while now so I think they were excited to have their outdoor play area back.

AS GOOD AS IT GETS
Rusty and I cashed in our Christmas gift (2 nights in a cabin in Pigeon Forge) from our small group. One of the couples in our group owns this fabulous cabin. Click on "As Good As It Gets" above to check it out!
This was about midway around Cades Cove--an 11 mile bike ride we took.

This is one of the views from the road.

It was a great, much needed time away and we loved being together! We relaxed, slept later than normal, enjoyed the outdoors, loved the hot tub and deck at the cabin. We also enjoyed some television, something we do not do at home. Hands down it was an awesome time. We are blessed!
