In the kitchen

In history (The Story of the World: Ancient Times) this week we learned a little about west Africa. One thing we always love to do is make a meal from whatever country we are studying. This time we opted to just make dessert. Let's take a look at how to make DATE CHEWIES!
7 ingredients is all we needed
chopped dates and eggs blended together
We needed some ground pecans. Aubrey always loves to use the coffee grinder to grind anything I'll let her!
We mixed it all together and flattened it out on a cookies sheet.
After 15 minutes it was ready to cut into squares...
then roll into balls...
then roll in powdered sugar!
Ta-Da! Date Chewies! Aubrey was most uncertain about dates so she wasn't going to eat one. Well, any good cook has to try the food before it is served so she did!
Uncertain at the first bite BUT she ate about 4 of them! It was a winner with everyone in the family!
happy chewing~!

Did Aubrey have her hair cut Wednesday? If so, I completely missed it. I love it though. It is adorable!
