Rusty's Mom affectionately known as Ma Sue by the kids turns 60 this week. We decided to surprise her for her birthday. Rusty's brothers had planned on taking her out to dinner and we showed up unexpectedly! We arrived early since we allowed extra time in case we had traffic or any other delay we might encounter. Yes, we changed in the parking lot so we would look presentable!
We were waiting on the porch of C'Paws, an old antebellum home turned restaurant, when Ma Sue arrived. The kids greeted her at the car and we had a bouquet of balloons to add to the surprise. It was great, she was shocked! Of course, we had to get a picture with her and all the grand kids!
After our fabulous meal we went back to Ma Sue's house for cake and ice cream!
She needed lots of help with those candles!
The adults visited inside and the kids played outside. Aubrey and Caroline found some toads and Caroline already had a pet turtle! We actually ended up bringing home 3 baby toads!

We had friends, family and co-workers send notes and memories of Ma Sue and we put them all in a book and presented it to her that evening. It was great and we appreciate everyone who participated to make it special! Stephanie worked over time Friday cleaning, washing sheet and making a trip to the grocery store. Ma Sue is very observant and Stephanie had to do things last minute so there would not be any suspicions! It was a fun weekend reconnecting with our family from Mississippi! Love and miss you guys!

You are such a better mom than me, toads, GROSS!!!! I love that house/restaurant......and Carter is the spittin image of Rusty!!
