When we arrived home from MS the kids were diligently putting away their clothes and unpacking their bags so they could jump in the pool before bed time. Rusty went upstairs and while in the kids bathroom happened to look up at the light and found one of Andrew's socks hanging out from the fixture (they point up). When he grabbed it he had to tear it away from the light bulb and then noticed the black burn marks and holes in it. The kids often leave the bathroom light on and this time it was off and we are so thankful for that. We were spared a house fire. As you can see from the sock it could have been possible. Thank you, Lord, for your protection! Carter said that Andrew threw it up there at the end of last week when they were getting in the tub. Yes, we have had the talk about what can catch on fire and that we do not put anything near a light bulb. God is good:)

We had to have a the same talk with Bethany a couple months ago. She wondered what would happen if she put plastic on her lamp light bulb. To her amazement, it melted and she thought that was wonderful! SO, she kept melting more and more plastic. When I came upstairs it smelled like the house was burning down. No telling how toxic it was in there. Glad your story turned out to be a safe lesson too.
So thankful that turned out the way it did...God was definitely watching over!
Quite a teachable moment, eh?
