Not your average pets!

While we were in Mississippi the kids founds lots of toads around Ma Sue's house. They brought three of them home and now we have two! We aren't sure if Andrew let one go, if it escaped, if it died or if it was eaten by the others! Anyway, we are down to two! They eat worm, beetles, flies and other insects!
Meet Cocoa and Jumper!
And here are our tadpoles (about 20) that we are watching grow and develop into frogs. The legs are forming and it really is amazing how many hours you can spend watching them. We have sent some home with friends to share the fun! We feed them boiled lettuce and then onto worms when the legs develop a little more fully. These are not named yet, we'll see how long we can keep them living! They are natives of Leipers Fork, TN!

My sister and I used to love watching the tadpoles grow when we were little. Every time puddles would pop up, we would head over to see if there were any tadpoles. Such fun for the kids.
