delayed

Today was supposed to be our home study but it was canceled due to the snow we were supposed to have and didn't get. When you decide to adopt you are ready to have the child(ren) with you at that point. We were told to expect periods of waiting and longing... they were right and it is not easy and we know we have only just begun. It amazes me how quickly you fall in love with or long to hold a child that you haven't met or even seen a picture of. When you know God has arranged another son and/or daughter for you all you want to do is physically hold them and love them... very much like a biological child when they are growing in your womb. You can't wait to meet them, know their personality and share day to day experiences with them. I know God's timing is perfect.. he is never late or early... always on time! We will continue to pray for our son and daughter whoever they are and wherever they may be.

A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, is God in his holy dwelling. God sets the lonely in families, he leads forth the prisoners with singing; but the rebellious live in a sun-scorched land.
Psalm68:5-6

"Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the LORD your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you." Deuteronomy 31:6

i would tell you all the things that everyone tells us when we are waiting... you know... the God's perfect timing and all that....

but you know that.

so for now - i'll just be frustrated with you.

and yes it is absolutely amazing the longing you feel for a face you don't know.

We share with you in the difficulty of waiting. We have had no progress for weeks now. It is so hard to just wait, knowing that child needs us and we just want them in our arms. Thank goodness our God has perfect timing...how much harder this would be without that comfort! We'll keep praying for you.
