We prayed for a good turn out and decent amount of money to be made. Some of our friends prayed for a miracle. Even our son prayed that our adoption would "all be paid for" from the event at Jim 'N Nick's. God showed up. The morning after the event we knew we had $8618. A week later we had sold a few things that didn't go in the auction and we were given money from some who didn't make it due to snow. Our total was brought up to $9960.50. Yesterday we picked up our check from Jim 'N Nick's and our new grand total is...$10, 206.19!
We consider this a miracle. My prayer for myself this day is that may faith would be strengthened, be more childlike. We are not able to cover the entire costs of our adoption with that total but it is going a VERY LONG way! We are covered completely until we have to purchase airline tickets! God is so good and we are continually learning that when you jump on board with the things that He is already doing He will be there to meet you and carry you through. There is no promise of ease but we truly wouldn't learn as much without a few obstacles or setbacks here and there. Thank you to all who made this happen for our family and especially thank you on behalf of two precious orphans who will soon be known as Rutledges.
