it is on it's way!

We decided to adopt on November 8th of 2009. Quickly after that decision (one that had been discussed off and on) we moved forward with our paperwork after deciding on Rwanda. On May 17th our part (besides prayer, of course) came to an end. Our completed dossier is on its way to Rwanda with the hopeful arrival date of May 20th.

When I was told we needed a 3-ring binder with page protectors and dividers I was excited. I love organized paperwork, I know it's kind of a sick idea! Anyway I went out and got all that I needed for 3 binders to be complete only to realized that after our Sec. of State authentications the neat, cute, and organized books I was making wouldn't work! Our state issues authentications on LEGAL sized paper that is bound to a sheet larger than that! Once we got everything back from DC we were on the hunt for a way to contain all this paperwork. Rusty literally spent an entire day going from store to store trying to find something that we didn't have to special order. At his last stop (he was headed home if he struck out this time) he found himself in a scrapbook store and would you know that they had a 17x15 scrapbook (and ONLY ONE left)! He bought it and extra page protectors and headed home. We made copies (on 8.5x11 paper) and assembled everything together and took it to FedEx! We had already heard that the cost would be around $400 so before we went we plugged in our numbers on the FedEx quote site and found that it would cost about $325 for 3 day and $285 for 5-7 days (using our best estimations). A very nice lady helped us pick out a box, package it up and then she placed the box on the scale and our cost for 3 days was going to be $535! WHAT?! When we checked prices online we plugged in smaller dimensions and a little less weight. After a few moments of discussion we unwrapped the box and literally SHOVED it into a smaller box and not only were the dimensions smaller but it went down by a pound AND we saved almost $200.... $338 to ship it! Still CRAZY but glad we had researched the price and had a very helpful employee to assist us! We have our tracking # and are watching this SPECIAL DELIVERY as it makes its way to Rwanda!

Now we pray and wait.
