departure day- day 1

After a week of gathering, sorting, list making, packing and organizing we took off from Nashville at 11:51.  It was a sweet moment.  My friend Robin was as busy or busier than I was this week.  She collected clothes for Benjamin and Hope from many of our friends, she bought needed things like diapers, underwear, pull-ups, onesies, forks, spoons, bowls, cereal, food, bibs and the list goes one.  She even got Aubrey and Carter needed travel items, arranged for a baby bed, car seats and other things we will need that we don't have any more.  We have been overwhelmed by the goodness of friends and we know that their actions reflect the heart of the Lord.  So many have given.  Robin and her family came over last night to pray with us and for us before we took off.  She gave me a painting of a blue gate that represents the blue gates of the orphanage and with it a framed poem she wrote... I can't wait to share it... I cried a little uncontrollably when I read it:)

So after we departed Nashville we went to Atlanta and had a 2 hour layover.  We hopped on a plane to DC- Dulles and now we are in a suite thanks to my sister-in-law, Autumn, she gave us her points!  We are relaxing now... just ordered pizza.  We are looking forward to a good nights rest (I hope).  We were up until 3am several mornings trying to make a lot of stuff come together.

At noon tomorrow we depart for Rwanda and arrive there on Sunday at 1:35pm Rwandan time.  We delighted in sharing our story and pictures with anyone and everyone who would listen!

Here are Aubrey and Carter at Dulles airport...
Aubrey flew and 2 months old and 6 months old and Carter has never flown.  Aubrey was very anxious about the first flight but she did great... they both loved it!  Keep on praying for us.  I hope to update often!

Congratualtions! We adopted our two sons from Rwanda in 2007 and moved to Rwanda as missionaries in Feb 2010. We are currently on furlough in the U.S.A. or I would offer assistance if you need anything!

Just wanted you to know what a huge blessing being in your family and your faith will be to these precious children! Our family spends time at the orphanage and these children need families. Love what you are doing. God bless.
