we took the liberty of taking all this week off from school... it has been great!
today we were going to do some returns, spend a few gift cards and go to the park. when rusty saw the weather forecast (upper 60's IN JANUARY) and heard what we were doing he wanted to join in. he did a couple of quick jobs, came home a little after 10 and we hopped in the car. we made a stop at kohls, at toys-r-us and then at chick-fil-a (we loved getting gift cards to eat here)! from there we dropped off some tractor parts to be worked on and headed to the nashville zoo.
hope liked the animals much more so than benjamin, he is simply scared of them, not terrified but scared and uncertain.
if an animal made a noise, hope imitated that noise (and she was pretty good at it too)... just needed a video camera instead of a still camera!
every 4 legged furry animal was horse and a bird is a bird, whether a sparrow or a beautiful exotic bird... according to hope! and she was intrigued by this horse (or goat as we call it)...
and this one...
i am beginning to realize that this post may contain a lot of pictures...
oh the energy of this little one...
just got done checking out the aligators!!
benjamin COULD NOT wait to see this animal... or so he thought...
i think the giraffe was a little, just slightly bigger than b was expecting!!! he hid behind rusty when he saw it!
the next 4 pictures I LOVE, probably should be a post all of their own. this is benjamin's REAL smile... we rarely catch this on camera...
man i love that boy!!!
Benjamin got to ride his very first carousel...
one of the great things about the nashville zoo is the playground, the kids love it!
it was fun , a lot fun and full of new discovery and exploration!
benjamin's favorite things were the fish, the flamingos and the playground and carousel!
hope took it all in and cried when we left, she is so intrigued by animals!
my highlight (as far as animals go) was seeing a mama wallaby carrying her albino little one in her pouch... incredible!
i loved watching the kids faces as they see new things and i love to be reminded of how great our god is... if you don't believe in our almighty creator GO TO THE ZOO... the evidence is plentiful! what amazing works HE has done!
